Dearest peoples on the innernets,
We is very exciteds to announce the newest members of the Whiskers & Purrs Gang. Now, please know that these new members cannot come live with us in the Whiskers & Purrs House. See, they is wild animals...and, well, mommy says we is wild enough and we ain't allowed to have any wild childrens livin' with us on the inside. All of our new members are wild little people who have been found injured or sick and have been takens to the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Oh, people...this is a magical place! Please visit their web site and go visit them in person if you ever are in the area.
When animals are brought to them, they help them get better and then release them back into the wild. But sometimes, the little ones never quite git well enough to be released or they are can't recover enough to be on their own. So...the Wildlife Center takes care of them forever and ever. That costs green papers, though. So they offer up these little ones for "sponsorship"...you can sponsor them and help pay for their foods, medical care, and medicines.
We have decided to sponsor some of their little ones. See...we is all so lucky to have a home, lots of foods, and someone to watch over us. We want to try to help others that might not be as lucky as we are. So...without further ado...here are the newest members of the Whiskers & Purrs Gang:
Alex is a Screech Owl. She has trouble with her eyes...Mazie Grace falled in love with her and wants to be her mama.
Athena is a Barred Owl. She has trouble with her eyes, too. Looks like Mazie Grace has another daughter to look after.

Briscoe is a Great Horned Owl. His eyes look just like Georgie Porgie Puddinandpie's eyes...we think he's pretty hot, too. So...he's in the Gang now, too!
Gus is a Barred Owl. We are very sad to report that for most of Gus's life, it was assumed that Gus was a boy...it was only recently that they did some tests and discovered that Gus is a GIRL! We figure that with the indignities of bein' called a boy for most of her life that Gus deserved a free pass into the Gang...we will call her Gusserina.
Papa G'Ho is a Great Horned Owl...and GREAT he is, indeed! He has a very real important job at the Wildlife Center. Even though he can't return to the wild himself, Papa G’Ho serves as a surrogate parent for any young, orphaned Great Horned Owls that are brought to the center. He teaches them how to be Great Horned Owls...kinda like how Mazie Grace teaches baby kittens how to be fabulous cats! We think he is cool!
Pignoli is an Eastern Screech Owl. As you can see, Pignoli had to have her right eyeball removed. And, sadly, the left one doesn't work too goods. You might not be surprised to hear that Mazie Grace insisted we adopterate Pignoli...yes, yet another daughter for Mazie to tend to.
Quinn is a Great Horned Owl. Although you can't tell from this picture, Quinn had to have one of his eyeballs removed. In addition, his wings was injured and his flight feathers didn't grow back right so...he now resides at the Wildlife Center.
You can learn more about all the animals that can be sponsored by visitin' this link.
Although we won't never git to meet our new friends in person, we will say prayers for them every day and try to help them with some green papers as often as we can. Please help us welcome them to our family.
Very truly yours,
The Whiskers & Purrs Gang
