To all the very nice people in the world, I wanted to say hello. Mommy says I get to be the first to write my profound thoughts on our new site. She says I'm a gift from heaven and that I have helped her learn lots and lots of lessons. So, if I can teach her, she says I can probably teach other people, too.
I used to live on the streets. I didn't have anybody to love me. I was so afraid when storms would come. I didn't have any place safe to go. And, I was SO hungry. I was all alone. But one day, I heard somebody calling me. It was a yellow boy that lived on Huntsomemore Drive. (That street name is perfect for me 'cause I was a GREAT hunter!). He was sittin' in the doorway of this little white house wiff lots of flowers in front of it. He said his name was Ricky Eugene Graves and that he needed me to take over for him. See, he was real sick. He had cancer and his tummy hurt real bad all the time. Real soon he would be goin' to heaven. He was the man of the house and he needed somebody that would be willin' to watch over his wife/sister Lucy, little sister Elsie Fallulah, and little brother Senator Henry Jackson Edward Graves, III. Most importantly, he said I had to take care of his mom. He loved her wiff all of his heart and didn't want to leave her alone. He said he would allow me to move in if I promised to make sure everybody was alright and make sure his mommy knew she was loved. So I said I'd take on the job...He said he'd be watchin' over us from heaven and that he would kick my butt-tocks good if I didn't do a good job. He said he'd give me a signal when it was time to move inside.
His mom made sure I had LOTS of Fancy Feets to eat. (One day I eated 12 cans of Fancy Feets...all in just ONE DAY!!!) I sleeped in the bushes every night and showed up on the front porch of the little white house every mornin'.
So, one day, Ricky's mom came home. She was cryin' real bad. I walked up to her and put my paws up for her to pick me up. I gave her lots of head butts and drooled all over her. She said the yellow boy had gone on to heaven. I knew that was my signal...time to take over. Next thing I knew, I was livin' in the house.
Since then, lots of little people have moved into our house. I'm the dad to everybody. Plus, I make sure my new mom knows that I'm very thankful for a home and I always make sure she knows that I love her. (I even walk on her bad back when she's sleepin'!!! She says it makes her feel better.) What mom doesn't know is that Ricky visits with me and the little kids every day. He really does watch over us. At night he flies down from heaven and curls up next to mommy while she's asleep.
So, we're just one happy family that lives on Huntsomemore Drive. Mommy says I ain't spellin' that right but it don't matter...it's the perfect place for me to call home!
Love, purrs and lots of drool,
Felix The Wonder Cat
