Mazie Monday

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is Mazie Grace speakin'...today is Mazie Monday.  Well...it has now been 3 days since my big Eyeball Operation.  I have not feeled so very good.  I have had a very hurty head.  But...I'm startin' to do betters.  I still have to take tons of medicines...and I am still bein' a very good girl 'bout takin' it.

Mommy said there have been tons and tons of peoples checkin' in on me from all 'round the worlds.  Gosh...that means an awful lot to me and mommy.  Mommy didn't know that I saw her but I catched her eyes gittin' all leaky the other night when she was readin' the comments on our blog and on our Facebook page.  You people on the innernets sure are wonnerfuls.

Oh...and them nice people that came to our house for The Learnin' Channel...gosh...they are just 'bout the nicest peoples EVER.  They came back last week to git more pictures of us and they got lots of stuff 'bout me havin' my eyeball operation.  Sara, Mark, Warren and Shawn (and Eric from the first trip), we sure do like you guys and want you to know that we will never ever forgit you.  In fact, we miss you lots right this very minute.  You were so good to us and had so much patience with mommy...especially since she was a big ol' dud this past visit with you.  It's just that she was so very worried 'bout me...I am sorry if she aggrivated you.  We hope with all our hearts that our paths will cross with yours again.  If you ever are in Richmond again, please call us, 'kay? 

Okay...time for me to go take another naps...I must rest my busted-up eyeball.

Have a very good Mazie Monday and remember to have your beans hum "Hail to the Chief" when you walk into a room.

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is Freddy Astaire Graves III speakin'.  Mommy has been spendin' all of her time watchin' over Mazie Grace.  She has to keep Mazie in the livin' room with the door closed 'cause she's afraid that we will play too rough and maybe hurt Mazie Grace's eyeball.  We all unnerstand that and we all want Mazie to git everything she needs and git better real soons, but...well...we miss mommy.  She ain't been sleepin' on the big bed upstairs.  We ain't had no snuggles or nothin' since Mazie had her eyeball operation last week.  What if she forgits that we are here?  We sure hope we git some snuggles or somethin' real soons...we are very lonely.

This is Mrs. Lilly White speakin'.  Even though I do not like Mazie Grace 'cause she steals all the attention away from ME...glorious me...I am still sayin' prayers for her 'cause she looks so pitiful.  My prayer goes somethin' like this:

Please help Mazie Grace feel better so I can go back to stickin' my fingernails into her.

URGENT: Mazie Grace is not feelin' so hot...

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is all of us speakin'.  We are worried.  Mazie Grace waked up feelin' good and danced all over the livin' room but then just a few hours ago, she started feelin' bad...she won't eat and wants to be by herselfs.  Mommy called Dr. Blair...he said to continue the medicines and to call him on Monday mornin'...if she continues to feel bads, she will have to go back to see him.

Please pray for our sweet Mazie Grace...we are very worrieds about her.

Mazie Grace likes things cozified!

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is Mazie Grace.  Last night I sleeped real real REAL goods...'specially after I ripped that awful lampshade offa my head...mommy tried puttin' it back on and I teared it off again and again and again...so...she has gived up, but is watchin' me very closely.  I am stayin' in the livin' room and dinin' room with mommy.  Me and her curled up on the couch and sleeped the whole night.  It was very cozy.  I miss my boyfriends, though...today mommy is gonna let Jimmy, Freddy and Buzzy come in one at a time to visit me and play...just as long as it ain't too rough.  We like to wrestle and mommy said there will be no wrestlin' in the Whiskers & Purrs House until my eyeball is all betters.

Lotsa peoples have been askin' when we will know if I can see...well, my Unkle Doktor Blair said it might be just a few days...the key is to see if my vision improves long-term...see, if scar tissue forms again, then I'll be in the dark.  So...we just gots to keep prayin'.  My eyeball is just a little sensitive to light right now...that's normal.  So, mommy is keepin' all the lights dim which just makes everything feel all warm and cozy.  I likes it lots.

Mommy is startin' to git lotsa boogers in her head so...she's gonna stay home with me today and we is gonna snuggle on the couch in the dim light...very cozified...just the way I likes it.

Thanks for all the prayers and comments and emails...I know that I've gots the best friends in the whole dang world.  I'll update everybody a little laters with new pictures...mommy didn't wanna take pictures of me now because it is very dark outside and she would have to use the flash on the camera...I ain't supposed to be 'round bright lights and she was 'fraid the flash would hurt my eyeballs.  We'll git pictures later and you can see for yourself how very good I am doin'!!!

PS...I've been a VERY good girl...I'm takin' all my pills and lettin' mommy put the eye drops and ointments in my eyeballs without any kind of fightin'...mommy kisses me and whispers in my ear 'bout how wonnerful I am everytime I take the stuff Unkle Doktor Blair sended home with me...I like takin' medicine now!

This is Mazie Grace speakin'.  What in the world happened to me???  I'm all foggy and goofy...I gots this awful thing 'round my neck and Unkle Doktor Blair says I gots to wear it for 2 whole dang weeks?!?  I just wanna go back to bein' normal.  Mommy says the drugs will wear off soon...I sure do hope so...

I'm not so very happy right now...how can I git this lampshade off my head???

PS...I don't remember much 'bout today but I do remember Unkle Doktor Blair lookin' deep into my soul just as I falled to sleep...it was very dramaticals.

Mazie Grace Update

Dear friends,

Although I don't know the details about how Mazie's surgery went, I wanted to let you all know that the procedure is finished and Mazie is coming out of the anesthesia.  I will go talk with the vet at 2:30 pm eastern time and bring our sweet little Mazie Grace home. 

I want to thank everyone for their concern and prayers...Mazie is a very special little girl and we want more than anything for her to be able to see.  With your prayers and the wonderful care she receives from Dr. Blair, I just can't help but believe that Mazie is going to be okay.

Will keep everyone updated after I meet with Dr. Blair this afternoon!

Dear God,

This is Mazie Grace speakin'.  Well...my big day is here.  I'm gonna have my eyeball operation today.  I know I don't gots to tell you that I am skeert.  Mommy says I just need to have faith that everything is gonna be okay...but...well, God...I'm just a little girl.  I don't unnerstand these things and I just can't help but bein' skeert.

Mommy says that maybe I should ask you to send our special angels down from heaven to watch over me...ya know...Ricky, Lucy, Felix and Miss Molly Louise Graves.  Gosh...I sure would appreciate it if they could be with me when Unkle Doktor Blair does my operation...maybe they could hold my paws or somethin'. 

And, God...you watch over me, too, 'kay?  I mean, I like you a whole real lots but...well...uhm...I ain't ready to come live with you yet...there's a whole lots I got left to do here.  The world just ain't had enough Mazie Grace yet.  Please don't git me wrongs...I'm real thankfuls that I'm gittin' to have my eyeballs worked on  and all, but I'll sure be glad when this is all overs and I am back home kissin' Buzzy, Jimmy and Freddy.
