The Dream

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is all of us speakin'.  Mommy has been puttin' in lotsa hours at work gittin' ready for a big big BIG meetin' in the spring.  She is usually real tired when she gits home.  The other night she came home and falled sound asleeps.

While she was sleepin', she had a dream...she was lookin' out the livin' room window worryin' 'bout our poor little stray kitty, James Bond, hopin' he would show up to git some supper.  She was very worried 'bout him 'cause it was so cold and snowy outside.  When she looked outside, she saw a cat out there but it wasn't James Bond...

Lucy

She looked and looked and looked...then she realized who it was.  She dropped everything she was doin' and runned as fast as she could outside to the kitty...see...she realized it was our sweet Angel Cat Lucy Margarite Graves.  When mommy got out there, she saw that Lucy was very cold and wet from the snow.  Mommy grabbed her and runned back to the house as fast as she could.  Oh, mommy was so very happy to see Lucy and Lucy was givin' mommy and all of us headbutts and her famous cranky meows!

But...after all the headbutts and purrs, mommy waked up and realized it was all just a dream.  Mommy was so thankful to see Lucy again in a dream...but, it made her a little sad.  While mommy thinks "it was just a dream", we know...Lucy is with us every day.  We think maybe this was Lucy's way of gittin' mommy's attention to tell her to take care of herself and git some rest.  We just gots to help mommy see the light!

Very truly yours,

Mazie Monday: Pigs

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

Today is Mazie Monday.  We're a little bit late gittin' it posted...today has been all kinds of fun and excitement!  It snowed and snowed and SNOWED in Richmond.  See, we don't git lotsa snows here.  But yesterday was the magical day!  It snowed so much that mommy worked from home.  I tell ya...all that workin' really weared me out!  Mommy sit on the big bed with her laptop and worked all day long.  Me and all my brothers and sisters piled up on the bed around her to help.  I am really really exhausted!

But, since this is Mazie Monday, I need to tell y'all somethin'.  We gots an email today that made us sad.  It's from a place called PIGS Animal Sanctuary.    In the email, they telled this story 'bout Skittles the Wolfie.  Skittles is a dog that was gived up by his original family (jerks!).  Somebody offered to take him in until they could find a forever home for him.  While he was with his foster family, they noticed he was coughin' up bloods after he exercised and she took him to the vet to see what the problem was. The vet found a large black mass on the upper soft palate of Skittles’ mouth which she was fairly sure was malignant. She said that treatment would be expensive but since Skittles’ caretaker did not have the money to invest in him, euthanasia was recommended. Skittles was then dumped at the county animal control facility (jerks!) where he was kept on cold concrete floors just waiting to die. That is until PIGS heard of this sweet little dog’s plight and agreed to bring him to their sanctuary. He was examined by a PIGS veterinarian and they finded out that the tumor was something' called malignant Melanoma with a not-so-good diagnosis. They feel like they owe it to Skittles to make the trip to the Oncologist to give him every chance for a long healthy life full of tail waggin'. No matter what his prognosis is, they know the best thing they can offer sweet Skittles is stability and love for however many days he has left.

Skittles now lives in the Sanctuary with a large yard and cozy house with heat and air-conditioning. The Sanctuary has lotsa other critters just like Skittles that has got sickness and probably not a lot of time left.  They still need love and lots of special care.  Them nice people at the sanctuary urgently need your help to make sure Skittles can git the care he needs and also help all of the other animals there.  I just wanted to take this week's Mazie Monday to make sure all of my sweet friends on the innernets knowed 'bout Skittles all them nice people at PIGS.

If you have gots even just $1 that you might be able to share with Skittles, well, I just know he would appreciate it. Just look at the difference all of y'all made in Sweet Molly Louise's life!  And, if you believe in sayin' prayers and could say one or twelve for Skittles and all them other little critters at the Sanctuary, we just know it will make you and them feel warm and cozy on the inside.  It will make a big difference.

Very truly yours,
Mazie Grace
