Dearest peoples on the innernets,
This is all of us speakin'. Today is One Word Wednesday. Our word today is "home". Havin' a home is the most wonnerful thing in the whole wide world. All of us in The Gang used to be homeless and skeert, but we ain't no mores. Bein' safe, loved and gittin' good foods is what every kitty needs and deserves. We are all real thankfuls we gots each other and the Whiskers & Purrs House to live in.
Not every kitty is as blessed as us, though. Lotsa kitties are homeless and that makes us very sad. Our dear Aunt Doktor Dugan has a heart of gold and has taked in a lotta kitties that desperately need to find homes. They is all real healthy but are just waitin' to find their forever mommy and/or daddy. We wanna try to help so we telled Aunt Doktor Dugan that we would put their pictures and let them tell all of our dear friends on the innernets their stories and how much they want a home. If you live in the central Virginia area or even the Mid-Atlantic area and would be willin' to open up your heart and home to these wonnerful peoples, please let us know at thekidsATwhiskersandpurrsDOTcom.
Hello! My name is Tiger. I am 1 year and 4 months old. I have lived with my sister Angel all my life. Our Mommy loved us very much but she lost her job and had to move in with family members. For some reason she couldn't take us. It really broke her heart. And her 2 kids were devastated too. So Aunt Dr. Dugan promised them she would find us a new forever home, together. We are extremely sweet and playful. Here is Angel, to tell you more.
Hi! I'm Angel. Aunt Dr. Dugan had to take my picture through this fence, because whenever she gets within 10 feet of me with a camera, I run over and kiss it! My brother Tiger and I are living in this nice foster home with Aunt Dr. Dugan, and we have a huge fenced back yard just for kitties. It's 10 feet tall so we can't get out and others can't get in. Which is good because all of us foster kids here are declawed. See, we all used to have wonderful indoor-only homes, so we're trying not to get used to this fun thing called going outside. Aunt Dr. Dugan has these amazing kitty cat yards, but we know our new folks might not have them. (Aunt Dr. Dugan could teach you about cat fences...)
Here we are, playing in our fence:
We can run up the ramp and into the windows any time we please.
When I say "all us foster kids" it's because there are 7 of us here right now. And the unbelievable thing is that 2 of the others are my actual brother and sister, from the same Mama Cat, go figure?! We didn't see each other for over a year, but when Aunt Dr. Dugan took us in, we found out our brother Snowy and sister Jazzy had a sad tale too. Here's Snowy.
Hey ya'll - I'm sorry not to turn your way but do you see that cardinal eating the seed Aunt Dr. Dugan put out???????????????? I just can't take my eyes off it - wish I could get my paws on it...But I know Aunt Dr. Dugan wouldn't like that. I better go back inside and help Jazzy tell you about us.
Whew - I'm worn out from intense bird-watching. Jazzy - you talk to the folks.
Snowy excused himself so I'll tell you our story. Aunt Dr. Dugan rescued our Mama Cat, and she found loving homes for Mama and all of us kittens, 2 at a time. Our human Mommie raised us exactly the same but something went wrong with Snowy. Instead of remaining petite and adorable like Mama, me, Angel, and Tiger, he just kept growing and growing and growing. I tease him and call him the big moose! He's nice, though, and doesn't boss anybody around even though he could! Well, it broke our hearts when our Mommie got real sick and had to call Aunt Dr. Dugan to come get us. So Aunt Dr. Dugan brought us home for foster care, and told our family (just like she told Tiger and Angel's family) that she would keep Snowy and me together and not let us be split up.
We like it here but it's pretty crowded and we miss having a home where we are the center of attention. Let me pass the microphone to another couple of sisters, who aren't actual littermate sisters, but who want to stay with each other, just like Snowy and me.
Good Day to you all. Our names are Thelma and Louise. We are 4 and 7 years old. Our family moved away and took us to the Animal Shelter. We don't understand why - we have never done anything wrong in our whole lives. We felt so hurt and rejected. We were there for 3 months, and then Aunt Dr. Dugan discovered us and immediately paid the adoption price to get us out of there. She says we are "perfect" and she promised us, just like the other kitties you have met today, that she would always keep us together. We know those promises make it kind of hard for Aunt Dr. Dugan to find us homes. A lot of people tell her they just want one of us. But she says a promise is a promise, so we have relaxed and we know we'll never be separated.
We have 2 really young kittens here too, but they haven't seen the photographer yet. Aunt Dr. Dugan captured them in a Havahart trap, 'cause they were freezing and starving! The little tortoiseshell tabby girl has good sense and became tame and affectionate right away. The little orange boy is silly and still doesn't know if he can trust a human! If you have a gentle heart to work with him so he will learn that people ARE nice, Aunt Dr. Dugan sure could use the help!
Well, thank you all for listening to our stories and caring about our futures.
With hope,
Aunt Dr. Dugan's foster kids.
