URGENT: Felix is in the Hospital for Very Sick Cats

Dearest peoples on the innernets, this is all of us speakin'.  We is skeert.  Felix got pritty sick yesterday and was akchewally screamin' 'cause his insides hurt last night.  He is at the Veterinary Referral and Critical Care Hospital (VRCC) right now.  It is the Hospital for Very Sick Cats.  We is all so worried and sad.  Mommy's eyes have been leaky, too.  She stayed up with Felix all night last night...

Please pray for our Felix, 'kay?  It's real skeery here without him.

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is all of us speakin'.  Somethin' terrible has happened.  Everybody's guesses yesterday as to what mommy was doin' was all wrong...it was worser than gittin' the carpets cleaned...worser than movin'...and worser than mommy just cleanin' the house. 

Yesterday mornin', two mens came to the house.  They started bangin', clangin' and just flat-out bein' loud.  All of us was skeert.  We all stayed upstairs and hided unnerneath beds and in the closets.  The bangin' and clangin' went on for hours and hours.  When it finally gotted quiet, this is what we finded downstairs:

DOORS!  (Mommy wants us to tell y'all that the doors has gots to be painted white and the plastic film taked offa the windows...please don't think she is gonna leave it like this.)  Our mean ol' mommy had doors put up so we can't git into the livin' room and dinin' room!  THIS AIN'T RIGHT!  We own this here house!  We paid for it with our green papers that we sent mommy out to git.  We has always been able to go wherever we want to in our house...now we is banished from our favorite tinklin' places!!!

It just ain't no fun to be on the outside lookin' in.  We is heart broked.

Somethin's Wrong!

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

This is all of us speakin'.  We is inneruptin' our "How I Got My Name" series because somethin' just ain't right!  First of all, mommy ain't goin' to work today.  Second, she moved lotsa stuff outta the livin' room...stuff like furniture.  Third, she moved lotsa stuff outta the dinin' room.  And, finally, she acted all weird last night and still is freaky this mornin'.

What is goin' on???  If you have any ideas, please leave us a comment.  We is skeert!  In the meantime, we is gonna lay low and hide.  We is very worried.

Mommy is sad today...

To all our friends on the innernets, this is all of us speakin'.  Mommy is sad.  She went to run some errands today and finded a colony of homeless kitties at a shoppin' center.  She tried to talk to one of the kitties, but it was way too skeert of her.  When mommy got home, she picked every single one of us up and gived us big kisses and squeezes.  She telled us just how much she loves us and how thankful she is that we all gots nice comfy beds to sleep in and lotsa Fancy Feast to fill our tummies. 

Mommy is now very worried 'bout them homeless kitties...she's tryin' to figure out how to help 'em.  We is sayin' prayers.

Thanks to everybody that sent emails and letters to all of them dumb people at the Richmond Fox affiliate.  We think maybe them dumb people have seen the lights.  Read this letter from the Richmond SPCA:

Fox Richmond Bulldozes Cat Colony Habitat

June 27, 2008 Update

Please join the Richmond SPCA for a very special Tail Wag'N adoption event at Richmond Ford, located at the corner of Broad and Westmoreland Streets in Richmond. This event will take place today, June 27 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Directions: Traveling West on West Broad Street from Downtown Richmond make a right onto Westmoreland after Malvern/Westwood but before Staples Mill. Traveling East on West Broad Street from the Far West End make a left on Westmoreland after you pass Staples Mill Road. Look out for the Tail Wag'N Adoption Vehicle!

We urge animal lovers everywhere to come out and show their support for letting the cat colony at Fox Richmond stay where it is and continue to be managed humanely by caring volunteers using Trap, Neuter, Return.

These events will feature:

• Experts from the Richmond SPCA answering questions about non-lethal management of feral cat populations and why Trap, Neuter, Return is the most humane option
• The opportunity to sign up as a volunteer to help feral cats in your area
• Fun, cuddly visits with adoptable cats from the Richmond SPCA
• Information about the Richmond SPCA's free- and low-cost spay/neuter clinic and other services provided to the community.

Local humane organization volunteers have begun humanely trapping some of the feral cats at Fox Richmond so that they may be brought to the Richmond SPCA for sterilization and vaccination. Kittens and domesticated strays that have joined the colony may be held and ultimately placed for adoption through local humane organizations. Feral cats in the colony will be returned to the colony after sterilization. We again urge individuals not assigned by humane organizations to not attempt to trap the cats. This is for the safety and well-being of the animals.

We hope to see you at Richmond Ford today between 12:30 and 3 p.m.!

URGENT: Please help us...

Dearest peoples on the innernets,

We need your help...real bad.  Please read this letter and see if you can help us by writin' a letter to any of the email/web sites listed.  We ain't sure but we think these poor ferals and strays has already been killed.  Mommy is organizin' a boycott of this TV station's local advertisers here in Richmond.  We will post more information about this as soon as we gets it all together.  We're gonna hurt 'em in their pocketbooks.  In the meantime, please help us FLOOD this TV station and other media outlets with notes of condemnation.  All of us in the cat blogosphere is the only hope these poor little peoples have gots.

We learned early yesterday that WRLH, the local Fox affiliate located at 1925 Westmoreland Street in Richmond, had contracted a local pest control company to trap and kill stray and feral cats and kittens residing on and around the station%u2019s property. This course of action was deeply troubling to us and I communicated to them our willingness to help manage and control the cat colony using non-lethal humane methods such as trap-neuter-return or relocation.

Yesterday I spoke with a representative of Sinclair Broadcast Group, current owner of the Fox affiliate and recent acquirer of WTVR Channel 6. This representative was unswayed by our offers to assist. This morning I spoke with Steve Genett, General Manager of Fox Richmond. At first he seemed willing to discuss a compromise solution that would incorporate non-lethal methods, but later in our conversation he admitted that bulldozers were plowing through the cat habitat at Fox's offices at that very moment. I immediately rushed to the location and was shocked and horrified to see the swift and total destruction of the area.

Sinclair Broadcast Group and Fox Richmond's unconscionable actions are cause for great concern throughout our community. I cannot begin to understand what manner of corporate culture and leadership it would take to behave in this cruel way. So Very Dramatical

Dearest peoples on the innernets,
This is us speakin'.  We have had us a awful day.  It was 98 degrees here in Virginia today.  Mommy says it was hotter here than in hell...wherever that is.  Well...we all waked up real early this mornin' to find that it was very very hot in our house...mommy cussed a lot as she was stumblin' 'round at 5:00 this mornin'.  She used a lotta words that we don't know what they mean...but they sure didn't sound real nice.

Anyways...our air conditionin' just would not work...the temperature inside got up to 85.  That is very not nice.   But a very extra nice man came and fixed it for us...so now we is cool as cucumbers! 

This made us think 'bout all the homeless kitties that don't have a nice cool place to sleep with lotsa foods and nice clean waters to drink.  We is gonna spend the rest of the evenin' sayin' prayers for all of them kitties.  We hope you will, too.
